Invalid Argument when user tries to access CRM (On-Prem)

Very strange problem wherein one my users tries to hit the main CRM page, he receives a blank page with 'Invalid Argument' displayed.

The only tangible details I could retreive from the log are this:

>>>>>> EXCEPTION: 0
>Type: Microsoft.Crm.CrmArgumentNullException
>ErrorCode: 0x80040203: ErrorCodes.InvalidArgument
>Message (15): claimsPrincipal
>StackTrace: present: 91D8E22C
>no PluginTrace
>>>>>> EXCEPTION: 1
>Type: System.ArgumentNullException
>Message (54): Value cannot be null.
>Parameter name: claimsPrincipal
>StackTrace <null>
>no PluginTrace
>InnerException <null>
><<<<< EXCEPTION: 1

But I have no idea what it refers to. It seems to be an issue with my Claims Authentication but again, it is only happening to one user.

    Can you please create a new org and verify if this is the same case in a new org as well?

    Thanks,

    Oh, interesting, if I view the source data on the web page after getting the error I see the following error:

    var LOCID_ACTION_UNSUPPORTED_ERROR = 'This action is not supported.';

    var LOCID_UI_DIR = 'LTR';

    var LOCID_NON_SRS_FILTERSCHEDULE = 'Only SQL Server Reporting Services reports can be filtered or scheduled.';

    I had a feeling this might have something to do with it as the default landing page for this user is porbably a dashboard that contains a report. Is there a way to reset the user back to defaults?

    Actually, that may not be it either. I think I've traced the error back to the ADFS server whereby when I try to hit the IFD site, it generates this error in the ADFS log:

    Encountered error during federation passive request.

    Additional Data

    Exception details:

    Microsoft.IdentityServer.Web.InvalidRequestException: MSIS7042: The same client browser session has made '6' requests in the last '0' seconds. Contact your administrator for details.

      at Microsoft.IdentityServer.Web.FederationPassiveAuthentication.UpdateLoopDetectionCookie()

      at Microsoft.IdentityServer.Web.FederationPassiveAuthentication.SendSignInResponse(MSISSignInResponse response)

    Again, this is only happening for ONE user which is why I find it very strange.

    it might be  Presence of '_' in the end points, is so please remove  the '_' from the end points and reconfigured claims and IFD

    Did you ever get this worked out?  I just added a new user, and we're getting this same error.

    Thanks.

    I'm having the exact same problem after following the guidance given in "Configuring Claims-based Authentication for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011."   Was there ever a resolution to this problem?

    As my issue was for a single new user, I was able to resolve it by removing and recreating the new user.  She didn't have any records tied to her user record, so no harm was done.

    In your ADFS Deployment, Claims Provider Trust (Active Directory) make sure you have added the Acceptance Transform Rule:

    Send LDAP Attributes as Claims, Rule Name = "UPN", Attribute Store = "Active Directory", LDAP Attribute = userPrincipalName, Outgoing Claim Type = "UPN"

    I experienced the same issue this morning and this last post worked for me. I was following a guide online to set up IFD and entered "User Principal Name" (as it said in the guide) instead of "userPrincipalName".

    Cheers David!
