Increase concurrent business connector sessions

Hello to All,

We are facing a challenge whereby we have have a web portal connecting to AX via business connector. The problem is that AX does not permit concurrent user sessions beyond 2000 per AOS yet the license states that allowed number is 30000. Trying to adjust the number under the AOS administration form does not allow any number beyond 2000.

Adjusting the config file as per the following article still does not help the situation:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa569637.aspx

We are expecting over 100000 users to access the portal and therefore the 2000 limit is hindering progress. KIndly help!

We have an eCommerce portal integrated with our AX, however we do not have 100k simultaneous connections.

Our AX is exposed as different Custom AIF Services (Inbound ports), where the website can "shotgun" our system with requests like loading list of items based on search results with their product details/prices/image, logged on customer details, past orders and invoices, etc. with various details packaged into a big data contract object per request. We have a very short timeout period set for these requests to quickly free up Worker resources logged on as per this blog entry:

    axbytes.blogspot.hu/.../wcf-worker-session-inactivity-timeout.html

The idea is that you do not need to maintain an open session for each user and do all requests through that like in a Business Connector kind of way, but we expose AX with AIF as a service to be able to send or receive only the information we need to and from the website and once information is sent/retrieved, close down the session.

We are using a Network Load Balancer to the 2 dedicated AOS hosts, and have rarely seen more than 2000 requests combined. If that would happen, you are no longer capped on how many AX AOS instances can you fire up for AX 2012 R3, so you could just add more resources if needed.

Maybe you could try to simulate what happens if you create an AIF port for testing and see how many sessions can you open simultaneously, I am unsure if the cap of 2000 sessions are getting applied there too.

What I am trying to say is that maybe with some smart design you could avoid having 100k sessions kept open. If you cannot work it out yourself, it is possible to get Microsoft involved to come up with a proof-of-concept based on Advisory hours to see what is the solution for your specific case.
