Inquiry Journal Entry from history

Hi

Is it possible to do a direct inquiry of journal entry posted in Historical Year? The only option I am aware of is from History Detail window. Can anyone tell about an easier option?

Regards

Reem

Reem, although it's no easier, another way to view an historical journal entry is via the Cross Reference report.  (Reports>Financial>Cross Reference).  This report gives the capability of re-printing the journal entry.

    Hi Reem,

If you know the journal entry number, you can go to Enquiry >> Financial >> Journal Entry Enquiry....and enter the journal number.

You can back out any journal in any open year, and in the last (most recent) historical year.

    Best regards,

    Ian.

The inquiry screen would have been helpful to view the source document. I wonder why they did not add this feature into GP.

    Thanks guys for your response.

    Hi Reem,

The source document 'Type' is displayed underneath the Document Date field in the Journal Enquiry window.

If you click on the underlined text 'Source Document', you can drill back to the original document giving rise to this journal.

    Hope this helps.

    Ian.

Hi, this seems to cover my problem, but in order to drill to the source document, after you get the accounts in the journal you found in the Cross Reference window, then you can find it in the Historic Detailed Inquiry. Don't know if there's another way. But for now, this is the best approach. Thanks
