Cannot Designate a Partner in CRM Online since the migration to Microsoft Online Services and removal of Windows Live Authentication

Although new CRM Online trial accounts no longer use Windows Live to authenticate, the Designate a Partner portal does require Windows Live authentication. However, the CRM Trial is not assocated with any Windows Live account, so there is no Windows Live user name that can designate a Partner. This is very frustrating as we are the Partner, and we can no longer claim the customer as our account.

    Alex,

You can associate the partner of record through the online services portal.

I will give you another tip though...you can create a link that will create a trial automatically associated to your profile and provide that to your customers. :)

    Hi Alex,

There is a simple way of creating a link the the Online Services Administration Panel.

You can invite prospects/customers by email to sign up for a trial of CRM. When this email is generated it generates a link that you can use to let them sign up and automatically assign you as the partner of record.

    Gus and Peter,

How do you create the invitation? Is there a document that outlines this?

    thx, Richard
