Physical inventory cost in RAF inventory journal

Hi,

I noticed that upon posting Picking List Consumption and Reported as Finished journals, picking list inventory voucher shows a negative amount in physical inventory cost no value in financial inventory cost. At this stage, reported as finished inventory voucher shows no value in either physical inventory cost or financial inventory cost.

Upon ending the production order, picking list inventory voucher shows a negative amount in both physical inventory cost and financial inventory cost. However, reported as finished inventory voucher shows no amount in physical inventory cost but shows a positive amount in financial inventory cost.

So, my question is that what would be the reason for not getting any value in physical inventory cost at status = Reported as Finished.

Regards,

Prasanna.

    Hi Prasanna,

Have you already set up a cost price on the item as suggested above?

    Hello Prasanna,

If you have a test environment with the same data, please try enabling Estimation: Price calculation in the Production parameters and re-testing.

    Dolores

    Hi, Dr. Reinhard,

Thank you for your reply. At present Physical Cost amount is not appearing in most of the produced item's RAF voucher.

Will check the other points that you have suggested regarding BoM set-up, route etc. to see if it is resolving the issue.

    Regards,

    Prasanna.

    Hi Prasanna,

Your parameters and configurations seem ok.

If you don't get a correct posting or no posting at all during RAF postings or item consumption postings then there might be an issue with your BOM setup, the route, the cost price, etc.

There can be many things responsible for this.

Do you have another 'good' item for which the postings works correctly?

If so, can you compare the setup of the 'good' and the 'bad' item for which things don't really work?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply. During ending of the order the correct value is already being posted as financial cost amount. However, we are expecting the cost price of consumed input material to flow down to the physical cost amount after RAF which is not happening. We are not looking for put a fixed cost price at the released product level. Can you please suggest what details need to be set-up at released product details?

    Regards,

    Prasanna.

    Hi Prasanna,

When you are using FIFO, you can setup a cost price on the released product details. Can you check if the item has a cost price setup? This will be then used for a physical amount. At least during ending of the order the correct value will be posted as financial cost amount.

    Hi Dr. Reinhard,
All input items that make up the finished products are purchased items and used after invoice booking. So, all such items have appropriate cost price. However, the same cost is not reflecting in 'Physical Inventory Cost' in RAF voucher. In the end, after 'ending' the production order the Financial Inventory Cost is correctly updated in RAF voucher. However, 'Physical Inventory Cost' remains blank.
Please refer to the attached screenshot.
Also, tried running inventory recalculations as per your suggestion. However, Physical Inventory Cost did not update.
Please let me know if any additional details are needed.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards,
    Prasanna.

    Hi Prasanna,

Do your items that make up the finished products have cost prices setup?

Can you test running an inventory recalculation to see if this brings cost prices in?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
