Hello,

I have RMS Dynamics v2.0.0105 on single store 2 cash registers. I want to know if is possible to check cashier activity from back office and record it. I can hook with VCN and have a view but I want to record. Is it possible?

    Hello Antonijo again,

Thanks for pointing me to this direction. I found that through SQL Server Management Express, which is free from Microsoft, triggers can be created and altered. Thou this is beyond my capabilities at the moment, I think this would be a great tool for the business owner especially if a message is made to be transmitted to an account instantly.

Any one out there can do something like this?

Your options to control and monitor cashier activity in POS include:

+ Security levels to control POS screen access to forms, dropdown menus, and buttons

+ Cashier rights settings such as "Allowed to exit POS", "Allowed to change tax status", "Allowed to perform No Sales", "Allowed to perform Drops and Pay Outs", "Allowed to perform empty transactions", and "Allowed to abort transactions"

+ Cashier properties such as Floor limit, Refund limit, Over/Short limits

+ POS options to "Print no sale receipt" and "Force logon each sale"

+ Journal enabled for any receipt printers defined

These options should provide everything you need to lock down register activity to whatever rules you'd like to enforce. You can then run reports and view the journal in Manager to review all activity by each register.

If you need a visual audit in real time, the DVR option mentioned is the way to go.

Thanks for replying. The uncompleted sales or NO Sale are what I am after.

This sound promising. I am not familiar with Profiler but I will try. Is it part of the SQL server installation or download?

Text inserter is good, but could be expensive solution... If you want a "free" solution, I would go with a SQL profiler, get some info from there and compare it with the transactions done after that (in SQL Profiler you will exactly know when the item is added to the pos and in SQL when exactly there is a sale done, for both who did it!!).

    Kind regards, A.

there is another way if you just want to keep an eye on register screen and record, not as informed as having cashier activity report

if you have a Security camera system, use VGA to PC convertor device on each register, this will show live screen of the cashier on DVR and record, I would also suggest to have 1 camera on checkout counter, which will give more visual of transaction

if you want to go even further with accuracy and in depth details add Text inserter on checkout counter camera, which will show you every item as it's scan and also if it is deleted, it's like having receipt printed on camera

If by "activity" you mean who sold what today, that is available in Manager, Reports, Sales, Detailed Sales, OK to run report. Right-click and select Show/Hide to determine what transaction data is displayed on report. You can drag and drop the columns and group data such as by Cashier or Register number or both. When you run the report it shows a live snapshot of today's sales. Press F5 to refresh the data at any time.

Once you have the report looking the way you want, click the diskette icon in the report toolbar to save it for future use (Memorize).

Exactly, I want to know and able to have historicals. We allow cashiers to change price and also we do not prevent them to delete items from sales in case of errors by purchaser or otherwise.

Well, it have been looked before for sure, the thing is that there are few RMS standard options to block Cashiers deleting lines from the POS, also security levels for who can do what, also the option of the Quantity can't be changed at POS... Many options, and customers adopt to some of them... What you want is to "know" what the cashier is doing at POS...

    Anyway, let's talk over this...

    Regards, A.

Thanks in advance. I am surprised that this has not looked at before. Cheers, T.
