Setting Up Default Financial Dimensions on Main Accounts

Hi Community,

I have a number of Main Accounts where I wish to set a default financial dimensions for "Brand" so users don't need to input anything in this field when entering journals, submitting forms, etc. as there is no need for a specific Brand for certain P&L items. This financial dimension is however set as mandatory and will require an input.

How and where in D365FO would I be able to configure these?
As we are running a global chart of accounts that impacts all databases, is this configuration database specific?

Hi Dennis,

You can define this on main account form :

Add you legal entity for which you want to default and add dimension

Chart of account is a global master which is mapped to a legal entity through ledger setup. Multiple company can have same COA and we can restrict few main account for legal entity using legal entity override.

HI Dennis,

As mentioned by Sourabh below, you can define the fixed dimension on the Main Account form by entering the legal entity and adding the default dimension.

As the issue is answered , i will be closing the thread.
