Importing a excel there is no option for custom Data map on CRM 2016

I have excel file from third party system and I would like to import to my custom entity on CRM 2016. When I import there is no option to choose my custom data map. But the same feature was available on CRM 2015.

Can any one tell me how should i import my excel file to my custom entity?

Note:
My excel column name and entity column names are different so I would need to do custom data map. Also I dont want export map from custom entity and import it back because that existing excel file was generated my other third party system difficult to change the excel column name

But it was working on my CRM 2015 environment with option by custom Data map

Hi Alagu,

I was able to get to Custom Data Map by following below steps.

1. Please export the Custom Entity Import template.

2. Unhide the A,B,C columns.

3. Copy ABC column headings and Paste it in your source excel to be imported.

4. Convert the file to csv format and Import it.

Thanks for your response.

I know that suggestion work. But my problem is excel columns are not exactly match with entity field name because those file are generated by third party system.

4. Convert the file to csv and try to import.

Hi Alagu,

Looks like something is wrong with your Excel file.

Go to Settings > Data Management > Templates for Data Import and download the template.

Populate some data.

If you use this file, you won't get the Mapping Step since all the fields match.

Then change few field names and try importing again.

You should now see the Mapping Step. I just tested and works fine to me.

When I import the excel file in the CRM 2016 even I am not able to import. The excel file is dummy excel file I have created for testing purpose and its format is .xlsx

Hi Alagu,

That option is still there in CRM 2016. Once you have mapped the fields you can save the data map. Next time you import a similar file, you can choose the data map you saved.

Can you please provide a screenshot of where you can't see your data map?
