Config file does not work from Client

We have recently created a new Dev environment Axapta 2012. Kernel Version 6.3.3000.111. Application Version 6.3.3000.110. Windows Server 2012 R2. SQL server 2014.

All functionality on the server is fine. We can generate the config files and use them from the server without issue. The problem arises when we attempt to use the config files from client PCs.

The clients are using the same version of the software but when we attempt to run it a Dynamics window opens for a few seconds the closes without any kind of error or warning.

I have compared the config files from our previous dev environment and cannot see any issue whatsoever.

I have turned off the firewall in case the server was refusing connection and disabled the AV.

Any ideas?

This is my first post please forgive if I haven't followed certain protocols for this forum.

    You can try to update the kernel files (server and clients) to the latest available kernel build: cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../

    If it is then not working, you can create a ticket for Microsoft Support. The version you are using today is not supported anymore by Microsoft. If you create a ticket now, they will first ask you to update anyway.

    I tried again and in the event viewer I also get this at the same time as the first error.

    I also copied and edited the config file. Each time the Dev server was listed I changed the name to that of our test server and the application opens without issue.

    I have deleted the AUC files but it made no difference.

    I just tried a re-install of the client but it still will not work.

    OK. Please try the configuration utility first. This event is not helpful for you. Probably there are some information events or warnings with other details just before this error?

    I have not tried the Dynamics AX client configuration tool but I will certainly do so.

    Hi Jactur,

    Can you check if there are logs in the windows event viewer which could lead to a possible cause of your issue? Have you also tried to connect using the Dynamics AX client configuration tool?
