Enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration

I'm looking to enable enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration in my environment so we can store attachments under notes in SharePoint instead directly in Dynamics 365. This way, we can save some storage space.

Do I need to purchase SharePoint licenses to complete this?

Will D365 users be able to access these files without having a SharePoint license.. or will they be redirected to a SharePoint site when trying to open?

Do we get free SharePoint licenses with a Dynamics 365 subscription?

Than you

    Hi Bcherisme,

I understand you're trying to enable Server-Based SharePoint Integration in your Dynamics 365 environment to store attachments in SharePoint and save storage space.

To address your concern, I would recommend using Attach2Dynamics by Inogic, which integrates Dynamics 365 with cloud storage providers like SharePoint. With Attach2Dynamics, users can manage documents directly within Dynamics 365 CRM without needing separate SharePoint licenses. It allows seamless file management—uploading, downloading, and accessing files—directly from the CRM interface, eliminating the need for users to navigate to the SharePoint site.

This way, you can optimize storage and improve user experience while staying within Dynamics 365.

    Additionally, Attach2Dynamics,
    • Enables seamless migration of email body content, including messages, images, and GIFs, from Dynamics 365 CRM to cloud storage like SharePoint.
    • Users can directly attach files or documents from email without switching between different entities.
    • The solution supports bulk attachment migration from CRM to configured cloud storage, providing detailed tracking and status updates for migrated email body content, activity notes, and sales literature attachments.
    • Users can easily share documents externally by copying and pasting the generated links.
    • Allows you to control user access to various features, such as Upload, Download, Email, Copy Link, Rename, and more, across all three cloud storage platforms—SharePoint, Dropbox, and Azure Blob Storage. This ensures that you can manage permissions efficiently and provide access based on user roles within Dynamics 365 CRM.
    • Moreover, Attach2Dynamics facilitates the smooth migration of notes, attachments, and files from Outlook to cloud storage, ensuring efficient data management within the Dynamics 365 CRM environment.
If you're seeking both storage optimization and security synchronization between Dynamics 365 CRM and SharePoint, Inogic's SharePoint Security Sync is the ideal solution. An extended version of Attach2Dynamics, it not only manages document storage but also syncs security privileges from CRM to SharePoint, ensuring secure access to confidential documents and providing a seamless, efficient document management experience.

Take advantage of the full functionality of Attach2Dynamics by installing the app from Inogic or Microsoft AppSource, completely free for a 15-day trial.

This allows you to evaluate its features firsthand, or you can schedule a demo to explore how it can streamline your document management. For more details, feel free to reach out at crm@inogic.com

    Thanks,
    Sam
