Duplicated entries on customer upload

Hello,
 
I have loaded  Customers on Buiness Central using table 18. I left the customer number blank. I wanted Business central to generate the customer numbers as a test (experiment).
 
However, once the data has been loaded, BC has duplicated te entries. Any ideas why this is happening?

    How did you load the customers? Did you assign a number series to the customers when importing the data?

    Hi Sami,
     
    I assigned a number series in BC in the sales & receivables set up. But not to the customers in the config package that i uploaded. I wanted to see if BC would automatically assign numbers

    Customer Number is the primary key. If you leave it blank, as far as I know, the Configuration Package will consider it the same data.
    You can assign numbers in Excel according to the No. Series rules and then import them.
