We have a portal and have web API of the portal. We need to fetch some field value of some specific records from portal and set those values to CRM attributes in account entity. Please suggest, if you have some sample code.

Please share more details on when you want this update to happen ie, is it going to be a scheduled update or is it going to be based on a record events like field/status change or should this update happen when a user clicks on a button?

Thank you for your response Mr. Kokulan Eswaranathan. Is it possible through JS because, i want to update account entity on form load or on button click. So, i was just wandering if we can trigger the JS on above event then JS will run and fetch the data from external portal and there after set those values to CRM attributes in account entity.

On which event you need to fetch records?

If it is one time activity then create a console application.

If it is a repeat activity then you can create a job like window service or worker role.

You can call WebAPI in C# as well as in Java script.
