Financial reporting: Add additional consolidation accounts as attributes

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Dear,

We would like to use the additional consolidation accounts and do work with financial reporting  (Management reporter) in D365 for Finance and Operations.

When digging into the financial reporting (Management reporter) we could only found the consolidation account on the main account, but not the additional consolidation accounts.

Could someone point us in the right dirrection?

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards

    Hi Geert G,

Not sure about the integration of those additional fields in MR.

What might help though is this post that illustrates how to consolidated data from companies that have different COAs.

    Hi Ludwig,

    Many thanks for your feedback.

The point here is that we try a different approach for companies multi entity in different countries.

In the past we took one chart of account for all entities (IFRS) and we added as a financial dimension fixed per entity the local chart of account and if necessary the mapping for the group chart of account.

However we have seen that for a lot of reports we had to do modifications to report in Local Chart of Account.

Reading a post of microsoft the consolidation account is the best practice if you want to map several accounts to one IFRS and indeed this is working great if you have one mapping to do.

If you have multiple mapping to do you have the additional consolidation accounts. When working in Power BI there is no issue to tackle this, however in MR we could not find a standard way to let it work up til now.

I do believe if we are talking about reporting MR is more powerfull in lay-out then PBI, PBI is more designed for dashboards.

The only missing link to add the account structures as we want is for now the MR.

    Best regards

    Hi,

To my knowledge only the following consolidation account is available for selection in MR

    8688.mr2.png

    8688.mr2.png

If you need any other additional info, you can either try to do the mapping as I illustrated in the link to the post that I sent. Alternatively, you have the chance to work with Excel and get Excel data imported in addition to the D365FO data.

Please also have a look at the following MS blog that has a couple of posts on MR consolidations available.
