CRM 2013 > Launch report from custom entity form

ReportReport
Posted on by 60

Hi all,

seems that in CRM 2013, there's no button in the custom entity forms to run the reports associated to the entity although I can find it on vanilla entities.

Any idea on this? Is it a known bug? A feature? Am i missing something?

Thanks in advance and best regards

You may need to reference this blog post: How to restore a hidden button on the CRM 2013 Command Bar

    Thanks for the link., Jason.

Already tried the Ribbon Workbench a week ago but didnt manage to get it working. What the blog says about removing the Mscrm.HideOnCommandBar for the button doesnt work for this custom entity (or invoices, that also doesnt allow to run report from the form) as the button doesnt have that display rule.

Anyway, ended finding a solution. It comes from adding a new command, Mscrm.ReportMenu.Form with the neccesary display and enable rules, as this entities only have the Mscrm.ReportMenu.Grid one.

    Hi,

I'm sorry you could get it working with the instructions in my post - I've just tried the process for a custom entity and  all seems to work ok. Perhaps the step you missed was step 4 where you select the 'Form' ribbon. If you were customising the command on the Home page or subgrid ribbon (Mscrm.ReportMenu.Grid), then the HideOnCommandBar isn't there - it is only in the Mscrm.ReportMenu.Form command. This would be consistent with as you say "the button doesnt have that display rule"

    Hope this helps,

    Scott
