Depreciation journals with Budget control and workflow

Hi,

We are facing lot of issues with depreciation journal postings, as we have around 50+ entities with FA on average 3000 assets each.

All are generating depreciation journals during first 3 days on the month and we are getting errors due to that, AX 2012 R3 just not able to handle the volume.

One major reason is we have budget control enabled and workflows also.

Hence while creating the journal or submitting for workflow or approving it or posting it, the below error keeps coming across AX journals.

I feel it is due the locking of tables used by budget control mechanism.

Everything goes fine during rest of the month

"Cannot execute the required database operation.

The SQL database has issued an error.Object Server 01:[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]BudgetControlProcessProc ( in

SysRaiseErrorProc): Trying:exec BudgetControlCheckBudgetProc :BudgetControlCheckBudgetProc:

Trying:get applockBudgetCheck_Main returned -1: at line unknown at line 67EXEC BudgetControlProcessProc @PartitionId = 5637144576, @BudgetCheckGroup = 5639666362, @IsAnyRelieved = 0, @IsDraftCleanupRun = 0session 98 (Admin)"

Anyone with any good suggestion on this?

Regards,

Vishal

    Hi Vishal,

Why do you have budget control enabled on depreciation related postings?

The money has already been spent when you purchased the fixed asset and typically nobody can influence the depreciation expense that is calculated and posted based on the amount you spent for the fixed asset.

I cannot see the reasoning for making use of workflows and budget control for depreciation expenses.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
