Reversing the Sign Just for EBITDA

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello:

Below is an image of a Budget vs. Actual P&L statement's column definition in Management Reporter 2012 CU13.

The CFO says that the report is accurate, except that the sign on the EBITDA line item needs to be flipped.  It is showing an unfavorable (in parentheses) variance, even though Actual Revenue (EBITDA) is greater than Budgeted Revenue (EBITDA).

In the row definition, for the EBITDA calculation line item, I do not have a "C" in the "Normal Balance" column.  Do I need to put one in?  Would that solve the problem?  If not, then what?

Thanks!

John

Using "C", in the Normal Balance column, worked.

    Thanks, Heather!

    Hi John

That would be worth a try.  Or if it is a calculation, put a -1 in the calculation.

    A number of options available.

    Cheers
