Is It Possible To Import Average Exchange Rates As A Recurring Batch Job?

Hi all,

I currently have batch jobs that can import daily and month end closing rates from OANDA. I have been struggling for years to find a way to automate importing a prior month average rate on the 1st of the following month.  The parameters dialog is pretty straightforward, allowing me to enter start and end dates, but I can't find any way to make them change Dynamically, pun intended.

If I take the parameter setup shown below and manually run it on 1 Oct 2024, it will import a single average rate from 1 Sep 2024 to 30 Sep 2024, as I'd expect. But if I make it a recurring batch job, then when it runs on 1 Nov, it will once again import a value from the September date range. I have preconfigured dynamic date ranges set up that work in other areas of D365, such as the Trial Balance, but they aren't a selection option here. I'm stumped as to how I can make my date range change when the month changes when the batch job triggers. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Does OANDA give you access to an API? I would recommend using power automate instead as it would be much more flexible.  We handle all of our FX rates with Power Automate and the XE.com api

    Hi Steve,
That is not possible out of the box. I have done a lot of work with the batch job behind the exchange rate providers quite recently.

You will have to make a customization or implement a version that automatically can change the date.
