We are running GP2010 using the Human Resource module to create all new payroll employees. We have just recently run into an issue where after entering all required information, including the social security number, it is not being saved. It appears on the screen and appears to be saved but when you return to update the employee file, the social security number is missing. Has anyone else run across this problem? I'm working with HR now to determine the exact steps they are taking to add new employees.

We are not using a customized form. It also appears to be inconsistent. I'm not aware of a trigger on the field

Do you have a customized form? This is certainly not normal behavior. Is there a trigger on this field in the database?
