Hi Neil German,
Thanks for the response.
Would like to know; have you checked the link what Satish Panwar mentioned ? It explained detail about the number sequence.
For your question; yes I think it may create impact on system performance going ahead if you push that many records on daily basis in ERP especially when you set the sequence as "Continuous". In addition, users might be posting manual transactions too.
Better if you set the number sequence using Preallocation option. It will ultimately keep the process flow on a level where chances will be less to face the performance issue.
This is a very simple setup but quite helpful. You can try this in UAT system first. Just disable the Continuous check box. System will automatically enable the Preallocation check box and a default value of '5' will be set in the Quantity of numbers field. However; you can update this to any higher value of '5'. If you try to set lower value of '5', then you will get a popup message. Click on 'NO'.

For example; we have set this in 'GEN' series journal.

The Next and Largest number in 'Preallocation' will be set automatically by system itself.
When you start posting transactions using this journal name, system will allot the number based on 'Preallocation'. Once the largest number crossed here; system will pick the next number '17001' from Number allocation as shown in above screen shot.
Now, when the number '17001' is also utilized; then ERP will again allocate the number like the following.
--- The 'Next' number in Number allocation will be set to (17001 + 5) = 17006 (this is because I set '5' in Quantity of numbers field).
--- 'Next' and 'Largest' number fields will be set by ERP in Preallocation section as '17002' and '17005'.
As I mentioned; kindly test this intensively in UAT system and check the impact before applying anything in PROD environment.
We will be waiting for your feedback on this.
Best regards,
Sourav Dam
