All:

We have a situation in which our end-user organization is using Gmail as its primary email service (vs. Exchange). Is anyone aware of whether one can email things such as Purchase Orders to Vendors from with Dynamics GP using Gmail instead of Outlook/Exchange? If so, how?

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Richard,

Our solution is a product we distribute so I can't really post it as a solution here

We have a solution we use to send emails from GP using GMail and other hosted email solutions.

In short, we have a tool that gets installed that works with GP (or other SQL Server based databases) and we can generate emails or files based on specific events in the system.

We could create an event based on user requirements and then when that happens emails will be sent to the specified recipients containing the attached PDF.

Hi Todd,

As Jonathan mentioned, you can integrate Outlook to GP if you use Outlook however if you are only using the GMail web client then this won't help.

We have an alternate solution that can handle the sending of documents from GP automatically and it can use a GMail account to do so. We currently have users doing this for things like Sales Confirmations, etc.

We can set it up in a variety of ways depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Hi Todd,

Dynamics GP is only supported/tested with Outlook. You may get Gmail to work but it would not be supported. I would check out the following KB:
