Hi,

From 01.01.2023 Spanish companies are required to report to the government on renewable plastic from purchase of goods (EUR 0,45 per kilo/kubic)

Does anyone have any experience with how to handle this, and if there exist any out-of-the-box functionality to solve it?

I have the same question (1)

My understanding is that only those who fabricate the plastic or import it will have to report it to the Government.

I'm also interested if anyone wants to share how has solved this report. There are some tricky parts like import, initial and final inventory and the sale of it inside Spain, that it can be either when it's delivered or invoiced, the one that comes earliest...

    Hi Gaute, Arcadi,

I'm not aware of the exact requirement or how the process would look like for the plastic tax. You can create a regulatory alert or search for existing ones here: Submit alerts about country/region-specific regulatory features - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

    Hi Gaunte,

There is no specific functionality for Plastic tax in the system.
We suggest different options to consider:

The standard functionality of Packing materials and fees - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn should address main points for maintaining and collecting information of plastic packaging. The specific measures for businesses should be extended via customization.
The nature of Plastic Tax in Spain is excise tax. Excise tax is not fully supported out of the box as it’s only applicable for vertical industries. For the tax amount calculation piece, the government requirement is “0.45 euro per kilogram”, so it can be supported by standard tax calculation method “Net amount per unit”. However, there may be other pieces such as plastic tax traceability and declaration during production, special invoicing printing layout, etc. that require gap analysis in each project.
To use Charges as it has unit of measure available for calculations.
    BR
    Mauricio
