Any idea how to structure a cookie recipe BOM with quantity to produce 24 cookies in a tray. The cookie is the finished product. For every batch of the BOM mixture, after baking will produce 24 cookies.

I have the same question (0)

    CYC,

    Here is my example:

Header - BOM P1063 - Shortbread Snickerdoodle, UOM = Batch

    Lines - Item - 10009 - Butter-Unsalted-Brick 36/1 lb, UOM = LB, Qty = 14.3

    Lines - Item - 10025 - Flour-53395GM Full Strength, UOM = LB, Qty = 12.1

    Lines - Item - 10022 - Flour General-Goldenshield, UOM = LB, Qty = 12.1

    Lines - Item - 10066 - Sugar-Fine 10300-Lantic, UOM = LB, Qty = 11.7

    Lines - Item - 10016 - Eggs-Liquid, UOM = LB, Qty = 4.53

    Lines - Item - 10061 - Oil-Canola-GMO, UOM = LB, Qty = 0.41

    Lines - Item - 10039 - Vanilla Extra-Virginia Dare 2x, UOM = LB, Qty = 0.39

    Lines - Item - 10077 - Cinnamon-Ground Korintje, UOM = LB, Qty = 0.27

    Lines - Item - 10080 - Salt-Kosher-Diamond Crystal, UOM = LB, Qty = 0.11

I also created a Routing the performed the mix and blending and baking and used Routing Links to tie the BOM Components to Routing Step. Packaging was a separate BOM to kit the finished items into different packaging sizes. My Batch creates about 1800 cookies.

My example you can change around the recipe to TRAY (equals 24 cookies per Tray) and update BOM component quantities.

One other note, this is base BC. If you want to look at Food APP's you should check out this link for Manufacturing Process APP's:

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Steve, thank you. Your suggestion is tremendously helpful.

So your Unit of Measure of BATCH has an alternative UOM of 1800 cookies.  Upon Production Order completion, assuming you use back flushing, it will consume all the line items and output of 1800 cookies for every tray (one production order for 1 Batch). Correct?

    CYC,

Yes, I created an Item UOM for Batch = 1800 and when my Prod. Order is finished I will have consumed all the correct components (ingredients) for 1800 cookies.

    Thanks,

    Steve
