CRM 3.0 - Reporting Error - Authentication?

I hope that someone can help with this, please.

I have CRM 3.0 installed on Windows 2003 SBS with SQL Server 2005 and
Reporting Services and IIS 6.0

CRM is fine apart from the reports.

Having looked through other threads regarding the issue, I believe that the
problem I have is one of authentication.  I can only get the report list to
show up in CRM if I enable anonymous login to the ReportServer web site in
IIS - if I do this the reports return the error "CRM_Fullname parameter is
missing a value" both from within CRM and when run from the Report Manager
website - if I disable anonymous login, and enable only Windows
Authentication, then the reports do not show in CRM, they return the
following error:

Microsoft CRM Unhandled Error Details:
Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a
receive.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the
current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about
the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was
closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

however, the reports do then run from report Manager.

The ReportGroup{} is correctly assigned and the MSCRM datasource has Windows
Authentication enabled and the appropriate permissions granted to
ReportGroup{}, <my_domain>\<my_server$>,
Builtin\Administrators and
NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE

Any suggestions would be gratefully recevied.

Thanks,
Andy

Can you try the add "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE" to "ReportGroup{}" group in Active Directory and your server's local users and groups.

    Thanks for the reply, Baris.

I managed to resolve the issue myself.

I have 2 instances of Reporting Services configured on my server, one on the Default Web Site and one on the CRM Web Site.  It turned out that the registry settings for CRM were pointing it to the reporting services on the default web site rather than the CRM web site.  Once I changed this it all worked.

    In the registry, under key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM

    The setting of

    SQLRSServerURL

was pointing to the wrong site.

    Hi Andy,

I facing same problem with you which have 2 instances of Reporting Services configured on my server, one on the Default Web Site and one on the CRM Web Site. It turned out that the registry settings for CRM were pointing it to the reporting services on the default web site rather than the CRM web site.

May I know what has been changed by u?

    For my case here,

    In the registry, under key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM

    The setting of

SQLRSServerURL has been changed pointing to default website. But the report still could not work.

    Appreciate for your quick response.

    Hi,

Value of SQLRSServerURL key isn't Reporting Services Web Site.
On Normal configuration, SRS web site is "reports", but crm is using "reportserver" (SRS Web Folder and Web Service Address)

    Hi Carol,

Sorry for the time taken to reply, I've been on vacation.

SQLRSServerURL needs to point to the URL of the report server on your CRM website

    http://<URL of your CRM website>/reportserver

    Regards,

    Andy
