SystemFormBase in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement

Posted on by

Hi,

I have 3 environments (Développement, Staging and Production). The three are in V 9.1.0.643 and obviously the production instance contains more data than the other two. I discovered that the entity SystemFormBase occupies more space in development and staging instances than in production one in a ratio of 1 to 10. I do not understand why and what is possible to do to save storage space.

Best regards.

Youcef

    Hi Youcef,

I have seen other thread mentioning that with v9 the form customization size is increased significantly due to internal form elements.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your message. Yes indeed we have a little bit more forms and dashboards in DEV than the two other instances but staging is quite the same as production actually (with much less data ) and I do not undersatnd this 1 to 10 ration in entities sizes.

I shall check again and try to delete unsused stuff.

    Best regards.

    Hi Ravi,

Thank you so much for your answer. Of course we have some additionnal forms in our dev environement but not so much and the two other instances are quite the sameactually. However it seems to me the difference in size  is huge (ratio 1 to 10). I shall have a look and try to retreive unused forms.

    Thank you again.

    Hi,

Unfortunately you can't do much here to save space as the table System Form based stored the customization of the entity form which is done by the core crm system. The only option is to review your customization i.e. forms for the entities figure out if these are still in use. If not in use, you can delete the form from CRM UI which will delete the records from the table.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Youcef Doumandji,

Are the customisations in the development and staging instances different to the customisations in the production instance? SystemFormBase contains customisations for form layout and dashboards, so it is possible that you have more forms and dashboards in your development and staging instances than in your production instance.
