Considering Lots when planning demand

We work in a manufacturing environment where we need to take into account our lot quantities individually rather than the total inventory quantity for some of our products.

For example, If we require 10 of a product for production order consumption (we cannot have a split of lots and must have a singular lot of 10 or more), and we have 2 lots with quantities of 8 and 4, Business Central will assume we have enough stock and not make the demand to order more of the product. We have a lot for 4 and a lot for 8 but not a lot for 10.

Is anyone aware of a solution where the Planning worksheet "considers by lot qty" rather than inventory?

when running the planning worksheet, you could try to exclude certain lots manually if this helps.

You need an exact match in lot quantity, I also think that it is not possible to do in the standard except for customization.

    Thanks.

I don't believe there is a way for the planning engine to incorporate specific lots out of the box. The only option I can think of is to create and use different item cards for each different lot. i.e. an item card for lots with 4, lots with 8, and lots with 10.
