Need to have a timer that measures total time spent on a Case (not time remaining)

Hello all:

I need to measure time spent on a Case (we don't need or use SLAs, so what we need as far a metrics is a total amount of time spent).  Is there a way to make the Timer "go forward", or alternatively, is there a 3rd party app anyone could point me at?

I did...thought you might have encountered it as well.  Thanks!

    Hi Rob

Seems to me it is a bug.

    Have you reported?

    Thanks

    Aileen:

Yes; I have set up a pause condition on Case in the Sandbox, but it doesn't seem to pause the actual Timer...the Timer field says "Paused" but the clock continues to run.

    Hi Rob,

The pause function in the SLA timer is that what you mean?

    Thanks, Aileen:

I went with a calculated field to show diff in minutes of Created On and a custom field, as I only need to show the time spent on a Case.

I did notice, in testing, though that the pause function seems to not work at all; do you know anything about that?  I saw one blog that mentioned that they had also noticed it.

Robert you want like timer visualization?

As I know timer in this CRM oob feature can have countdown thing so no forward one.

If you want to count the total spent in static way then you can use javascript to display in the form otherwise you need like custom.net ajax.

You might think to use custom web resource and use jquery timer plugin.

    Thanks
