Dear Experts:

We have installed CU2 and are still receiving this error on workstations.  My understanding is that CU2 was supposed to fix this.  Have you seen that this has been fixed?

Thanks,

    Serena,

Thank you for posting this on the forum. You are correct that this issue was submitted to the Microsoft Dynamics SL development team to look into why this is happening and a possible fix. However, it has been found that this is not an issue with SL as much as it is an issue caused by a clients network security along with Windows 10 security.

After much research and testing, the final say on this bug is an update to the Installation Guide noting what needs to be done to successfully install the SL client.

Updated the installation guide to note that:

    (1) The user must open a command prompt as administrator and map the network drive using the same drive letter as the user has mapped to the share.

    (2) ClientSetup.exe must NOT be executed with "Run as Administrator".

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn

    Serena,

I am sorry your post had not been answered. The link included was to the user friendly issue when the message.csv file is missing. I suspect the issue you were seeing was due to how SL 2015 installs onto a Window 10 workstation. Due to the UAC settings you can get this message when launching SL along with some other frustrating behaviors. To work around these issues, please see the information at the following link:

    www.dynamictechservices.com/sl-2015-cu1-unable-to-locate-message-file-and-system-message-5004

This link does state that a fix is...was planned for SL 2015 CU2, however since this had a workaround it will hopefully be fixed in SL 2018 slated to be released in early May 2018.

I hope this helps you going forward on your installs.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn
