Creating A New Appointment Many To Many Relationship

Hi.  So I have been asked to add a new Section on the Appointment Form that would be a subgrid with all of the Employees (Custom Entity) that attended an Appointment.  The Employee Entity is different than the User Entity since not all Employees have CRM licenses.

I want to establish an N:N Relationship between the Appointment Entity and the Employee Entity but with Appointments you can not set up new N:N Relationships and if I try to do this from the Employee Entity then Appointments do not show up as an option I can choose.

Can what I want to do be done with CRM 2016 Online?

Thank you.

as you already found yiu can't create N:N relationships for appointment. The workaround is to create a middle entity (in your case you can call for example Employee Group) and add a lookup to this entity inside appointment

this middle entity will be N:N to your employee entity, and using a quick view form you can show a subgrid of the employees inside the appointment.

it's easier to do than explain it, the only problem is that you need to create the middle entity record for each appointment (but with some custom development this can be made easier for the user)

That is an interesting idea but I kind of doubt my client would like it.

I suspect that Microsoft put that limitation on the Appointment Entity due to the Outlook Client and Sync.

    Thanks again!
