Minimum required permissons to see Post Entity

Hi all,

I have a little issue setting up the post entity for my company. With admin permissions I can see "post" just fine when I click on the "Plus" Button on the timeline for a custom entity. However, a user with "Standard Permission" (a custom security role) can not see "post" when he clicks the add button on the timeline.

What I have done so far:

  • Configured the entity so that the "wall" is enabled
  • Configured the timeline to show only selected areas "Notes", and Posts
  • Configured the security role and granted global rights for post entity
  • Configured the security role and granted global rights for activities (don't know if that is important though)

What am I missing so the use can see the "posts" and add "posts" on the timeline?

Best,

Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Can you please make you have assigned Read  privilege on Post entity to users? Normally we don't suggest customer to create a totally new security role. Modifying OOB security roles is more suggested.

I removed all privileges on Post entity and cannot see Post.

The user has global "read" permissons on the entity "post".

The user is granted global "create", "read", "delete", "append" and "append to" rights. Still "posts" is not visible on timeline.

    Hi Daniel,

Can the user directly see Post entity? You can access the Post entity by the link [org url]/etn=post. In this case I would suggest you to raise a ticket to Microsoft for further investigation. Obviously it's weird that every privilege is given but the entity is still invisible.

    Thanks.

Are you able to see the Post in Classic interface for that user?.

Did you create a complete new Role or you copied from an existing role?

    Hi Daniel,

Can you please try to assign "Activity Feeds" role or equvilent privileges to the user?
