Changing Passwords of Service Accounts

We have an existing CRM 2015 implementation which is running well.  The following service accounts were used during implementation:

***async - for Async Services

***apppool- for Application Pool

***sbox - for SandBox

***vsswsvc - for VSS Writer Service

Now there is a business requirement of having another instance of CRM (365 on-premise) in the same domain, but unfortunately, we don't have the passwords of the above service accounts. The infra team recommends resetting the passwords, but just want to be sure that we do not jeopardise the existing setup which is running well.

Can anyone suggest if there are any risks if we reset passwords of the service accounts? We will update all corresponding services with the new password. Are there any other implications, or things to be take care of.

Looking forward

    Hi!

You can check this. If anywhere in the settings you set the password manually, then after resetting the password you need to reset them in your settings. Also if in your settings you indicate only user name then the password will reset automatically.

    Hope it helps

How did this go?  I am contemplating a similar password reset for the App Pool User Account.  It is a production system so wonder whether it will need a reboot or IIS reset or maybe no action at all.

There shouldn't be any issue changing the password provided you know all the places that account is used. If you are confident then good to go :)
