Clicking Unit on BU.INQ.00 Budget Inquiry and Analysis screen causes error

Here is the scenario:

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015. A user opens the Budget Revision Maintenance screen (BU.BRM.00), opens a record, and clicks on the Inquiry... button. This button opens up the Budget Inquiry and Analysis screen (BU.INQ.00). If the user clicks on the "Unit" radio button then this error appears:

System Message 9

Item not found, please reenter

System-Message-9.png

The interesting this is that it doesn't happen if you go directly to the Budget Inquiry and Analysis screen, it only happens if you go to the Budget Revision Maintenance screen first.

The screen does not have any customizations.

I didn't see this mentioned in any hot fixes.

The screens don't have different permissions levels.

Has anyone come across this same issue and if so, how did you fix it?

    Good day luka009,

This is something Standard issue. You might reach out to Microsoft regarding this issue. The reason behind this issue that Revision Id has populated in the Budget Revision Inquiry and Analysis screen but the PV Lookup in the Revision Id field does not get the value in Budget Revision Inquiry screen. That's why we're getting System Message 9 "Item not found" error.

This issue is not happening when you're trying to open this screen directly from Dynamics SL. this happens only when you're coming through Budget Revision Maintenance screen. I think the issue is something related to PV Procedure & PV Lookup on the Revision Id.

I would suggest you to raise a Bug request to Microsoft for this issue. Microsoft definitely solve this issue.

    Hope this helps.

It looks like you are correct. When I open up Budget Revision Inquiry and Analysis through Budget Revision Maintenance there are no PV values in the Revision Id. If I re-enter in the project number, they appear. How do I go about raising a Bug request to Microsoft without utilizing one of our tickets?

I think I may raise direct support request from community forum but you need partner/customer source login. I don't think MS will charge for this kind of support case since it's a standard bug.

Initially MS rewards the partners/customers who finds the Bug in their Product. I'm not sure if it is still there as a process.

Anyways raise a support case using partner/customer source login credentials.

    Hope this helps.
