We frequently use the Changer tool to change item and customer numbers, most specifically, to move discontinued items with history out of the look-up window (i.e., we move EXTR001 to ZZZEXTR001 so it falls down to the bottom). There is one item that never posts as changed and there is no notation on the posting report that states a reason. So it continues to remain in the screen waiting to be posted and the old item number still exists in GP. Any insight? Thanks.

That is very strange as I would expect an error message if it wasn't able to change the item. Would you be able to run a DEXSQL.log or SQL Profiler Trace? This might shed some light as to why this won't change. You could also open a support request and we could review those logs and troubleshoot this here.
