Hello together,
i have two question in the Fixed Assets module:
1. Fixed Asstes under construction:
What is your best-practice way to handle fixed assets under construction? My idea is that we greate a separate assets group with no depriciation and then set up an assets wich is under construction with this assets group. When the assets gets actice i will make a reclassification with new asset group. Is this a possible way or is there a better opportunity?
2. Fixed Assets posting with a clearing account
Our customer post acquisition of fixed asset on a clearing account and create the fixed assets later and make a posting from the clearing account to the main account.
How can i solve that issue in dyamics in the best way? Create an asset with the clearing account and then later make posting on another asset? in general, how can i make a posting from an assets on another assets? When i want to make a posting from a assets to another assets i always get an error message that it is not possible.
Thank you very much for your answers!
Hi Veronique ,
Assets under construction are a special form of tangible assets. They are usually displayed as a separate balance sheet item and therefore need a separate account determination in their asset classes.
You can manage assets under construction in the system as individual master records, just as you do completed assets. You can also use collective management of several assets under construction on one master record. You can distribute to the proper assets when the asset under construction is completed by using either Line item settlement or Simple transfer to other asset master records.

The system seems unable to post from one asset to another. For the content of asset posting, you can check the link below:
