Creating a template

Good morning,

My question today regards the creation of a template. We sell batteries and tools and the customer is expected to receive a warranty document. Currently this is a manual document where information is written in.

Can a template be created for this document and accessed/printed as you would an invoice.

Regards,

Rosemary

Yes it is the Word template, I am going through that document now and see how it turns out.

    Thanks again for your input.

Thanks Tim for your response and yes as you so accurately termed it 're-purpose' the Word template, my apologies for sounding vague.

Each warranty document will contain a serial number and the customer's information, I appreciate your confirmation.

Will give it a try thanks again.

    Regards,

    Rosemary

Assuming you are referring to a Word Template for any of the invoice forms you are using, it is possible. In fact, I wrote about this a few years aback: dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com/.../how-to-add-terms-and-conditions-page-to.html. In the article, I describe a Terms and Conditions page, but you could effectively do the same for a warranty doc.

    Rosemary,

I think that you are asking if it is possible to re-purpose an modified Word Dynamics GP template report for producing supporting sales documentation,  in this case for warranty information.

Obviously the information you have provided is sparse, it depends on how complex the document is, how dynamic or static it is too, but as a basic principle, you could alter all the text on the page to suit your needs and select this as a template when printing the sales document.

You can also utilise reporting services reports to do some quite complex things too, which may also be accessed via the GP form.

    Tim
