Dears,

I have a concern regarding port 445(microsoft-ds) and  LDAP 389.  Is it mandatory to have port 445 on Microsoft Dynamics CRM application and SQL Server. ?

Can we use  LDAP Port – 389 instead of using port 445?

Can some one help me on the supportability aspect from Microsoft CRM.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sidhant

    Hello Sidhant,

Yes, Port 445 (Microsot-DS) should be open between the SQL and CRM Servers for Actve Directory Access and Authentication.

We can't use port 389 for this purpose as it is used for Integrated Windows Authentication.

As you can see the default connectivity requirements for an on-premises deployment below, Port 445 is mandatory for Server to Server (CRM, SQL, SSRS) communications.
