Forecast Scheduling is run, but planned order are not getting created

Hi,

I have run the Forecast schedule for an item but it is not creating planned orders. But when I go the released products --> Plan action tab--> Gross requirements and then update forecast scheduling planned orders are creating for that item. I am not sure why planned orders are not getting created through this option in Master planning --> Periodic--> Forecast scheduling.

Configure the item coverage group properly and retest it then to eliminate that.

I have not set any item coverage for those items, just the demand forecast alone.

The coverage is picked from the parameters in MRP module.

I am using "requirement" coverage group as my default.

So what does the item coverage record for the item not creating a planned order look like?

Gross requirement for an item which created planned orders by running forecast scheduling

    NO-PO.PNG

Gross requirement for item which did not create planned orders

    NO-PO.PNG

I created demand forecast for both the items and as far as items are concerned, therer are no differences in setup. I check the on hand also, no transaction at all for the second item

Can you post a picture of the gross requirements screen and an explanation of where you believe it is missing orders?

    Hi Steve,

For few items forecast scheduling creates planned orders and for few it doesn't . Do you know why that would happen?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ganesh

Does that mean you understand why just running the forecast does not create planned orders? If you enter a forecast but do not run a forecast schedule (and do not run master planning to run the forecast schedule) the forecast is not seen by planning - only once the forecast schedule is undertaken can planning react and then plan orders from the master plan run.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have split dynamic plan. I use the same plan for both dynamic and static plan

Forecast scheduling does not create orders, it creates the forecast to be considedred in the master plan - the master scheduling creates the planned orders. You can run master scheduling to run the forecast, but you cannot run forecast scheduling to also run master planning. When you look at your views look at the plan you are seeing, do you have a split dynamic plan?

    hi Ganesh ,

In the Forecast plan  setup ensure the following:

1.Forecast model is selected and the demand forecast is entered against the specified forecast model.

2.Include demand is set to yes and the coverage time fence of coverage, explosion and capacity   are more than the maximum days of demand ;for example if demand is enter for 6 months then   each of these values should be atleast 180.

    Regards,

    Ganesh
