I get following error when I want to go live with my marketing email:
MessageContentValidator_PartCode_DefaultContentSettings: MessageContentValidator_MsgCode_DefaultContentSettingsNotSet
Anyone seen that?
Thx
In order to send out a D365 marketing email, you have to have set content settings to associate to the email. Make sure you have content settings set up and included in your email via the assist edit button. Usually you can add your content settings link in the footer of your email.
Hello, I opened a ticket with Microsoft. The following steps fixed the error for me:
1. Open marketing app
2. Navigate to Advanced Settings (change view from "burger menu" in top left corner to Settings)
3. Open Default Marketing Settings
4. Open the only record that is there
5. Go to Marketing Email tab
6. Set "Default content settings" field to desired content settings.
7. Save (at the bottom of page)
I'm getting the exact same error. I ensured the Subscription Center marketing page is live, and that the Content Settings are live - with the appropriate subscription center marketing page entered. Any other ideas of what might be going wrong?
Hi Christ1575
The error message refers to the fact that your setup is incomplete. First of all, ensure you have a Subscription center page created and is live (meaning published by using the Go live button). Then ensure you have one Content Setting live and published to Marketing service.
That should resolve that error message.

HI,
that can not be the problem because we have 40 Dynamics 365 CE, Enterprise licenses.
Good day Christ1575,
Could you share your subscription that you use to run the FRE and configure the Marketing app?
We met one similar issue that the customer has bought 1 Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan Enterprise Edition license in order to have the Marketing app entitlement(D365_Enterprise_P1).
The problem is that the customer is receiving multiple errors while trying to perform different actions. For instance, while creating a "Marketing Email" and clicking on "Check for errors", the customer received a "MessageContentValidator_PartCode_DefaultContentSettings: MessageContentValidator_MsgCode_DefaultContentSettingsNotSet"
The issue occurred because they aren't eligible for the Marketing app with only a single Enterprise license, so therefore this is considered unsupported until they have 10 or more licenses or have purchased the stand-alone app.
Regards
Johnny
