Setting Default Unit on Sales Order

I am trying to figure out how to automatically add the default unit when I am selecting products on a sales order for CRM2011. My attempts to add On Change java script have ended up breaking my product / default price list lookup. This seems to be a common issue. Does anyone have directions on how to do this without breaking the lookup?

I have only seen this accomplished via JavaScript.

Yes however, when I try to use javascript OnChange, it breaks the lookup for the product and price list.

I have applied a java script to my Order Product / Productid OnChange, to set the default unit whenever a Product is selected. Now when I click on Existing Product Lookup which sorts the Products to the default Price List  is broken . Now I get all products regardless of the price list. Any solutions for this?

Here's how to fix the Parent price list issue: crmandsharepoint.blogspot.se/.../view-products-in-parent-price-list-is.html

Thank you, do you know how to make it work correctly so my users don't have to select a unit every single time.  99% of the time its the default unit there looking for?

It seems to work if you first implement the OnChange javascript. Then export the solution and fix the lookup view. But I guess without any guarantees...

I used this script, works excellent: crmuk.wordpress.com/.../crm-2011-set-default-unit-when-selecting-a-product

And then the "parent" view fix from: crmandsharepoint.blogspot.se/.../view-products-in-parent-price-list-is.html

So, if I implement the OnChange javascript first, then fix the lookup view, leaving the OnChange event applied to the productid field in the form, the system "should" automatically insert the default unit?

    Yes.
