Printing Problem

I have previously been able to print Sales Posting Journals, but recently (last 3 days) whenever I print, nothing happens.  Does not go to screen or printer.

All other reports in GP are working fine.

    Hi Nel

    First thing you should check is the posting settings.

    Microsoft Dynamics GP > Setup > Tools > Posting > Posting

    Select Sales Series

    Origin: Select Sales Transaction Entry

    At the bottom of the window check the settings for printing the Sales Posting Journal

    It should be set to Print and then one or more of the options (?, screen, printer, file)

    Start with this and let us know if this doesn't resolve the issue.

    This did not work.  Another employee can print these reports with no problem.  I have also checked the process monitor and the report shows that it is processing, it just doesn't go anywhere.

    What is your default printer? When you go to print GP will look at your default printer and try to size to page. Make sure your default print is something that actually exists. If you go into GP and then Microsoft Dynamics GPs->Print Setup what is listed there?

    All print setup looks good...like I said, all other reports are printing fine, it's just this one.

    Does the user possibly have another Screen Output open?  If so, close it and you should see the next report prints to the Screen.  There can only be one Screen Output open at a time ...

    Since the process is showing in Process Monitor but not processing, you may need your SQL person to check processes on the server to see if there is a deadlock situation. :(

    Have you tried restarting your computer. Do you have multiple user ID's setup? Are you using the default version of this report?  You may want to clear all SQL activity using the script in KB878449. Make sure all users are out of GP.

    The solution in my case (with GP 2018 R2), although it's strange, was to change the "Destination" report option to un-check the "Ask Each Time" option and then the report printed fine.
