Hello:
Is there a maintenance plan of some sort that can be created in Management Reporter 2012 CU13 to automatically remove older versions of reports from Report Viewer?
For the first ten days of a month, we have Management Reporter's scheduled to run reports four times a day. 50% of these are Financial Detail, while the other 50% are Transaction Detail.
After being live on Management Reporter for just two months, our database has grown huge. If you'll review the URL at the end of my posting here, you'll understand more of what I'm saying. :)
Anyway, is there a way to schedule the automatic deletion of older versions of the reports rather than manually right-clicking them in Report Viewer and choosing "Delete"?
From what I read in the URL below, removing older versions is the only real cure. We just need to have that task automated.
Thanks!
John

Hi John,
This is Rosa Diazvela at Davis Technical College. Can you send me the script to delete the older versions of the reports generated in Management Reporter please? We run a lot a reports and I need to delete them manually.
Thank you!

>Knowing that Microsoft stopped to do any further development on the MR product doesn't sound very positive neither
I know what you mean!
Hi Roger,
Microsoft had replied in the Connect suggestion that they did put the request in their list for future improvements.. however, that doesn't give us any kind of release expectation :-).

Knowing that Microsoft stopped to do any further development on the MR product doesn't sound very positive neither, since the announcement of the partnership with JetReports to deliver JetExpress for free with future GP versions.
I apologize, Beat. And, thanks, for refreshing my memory! I haven't kept up with that thread, since we had to dump the Data Mart due to its generating inaccurate figures.
Thanks!
John
Hi John,
I know how the thread started about rebuilding the DM.. but the discussion evolved around how to clean-up the MR database from old reports.. thus the reason why I said, keep reading down the thread.
We too use only the Legacy connector and this script works perfectly.
Beat, did MS acknowledge the request on Connect for a future version?
(I know this is a pain, our MR db had grown to over 200gb earlier this year, we got it purged though)
Hi Beat:
We're not on the Data Mart. We're using the Legacy Adapter. The thread that I started that you're referring to regards the Data Mart database.

Hi John,
The following thread (that was started by you :-) ) has all what you need to run a scheduled clean-up of the MR 2012 database.. The thread is fairly long, but follow the trail and you'll figure out.
community.dynamics.com/.../189997
PS: if you run on CU11 or up, you have to adjust the script content to fit the proper naming of the new table schema owner (not dbo anymore for all the tables like up to CU10).
Thanks, Roger! I understand. I'll discuss with you, offline. :)
