Hi,

I am using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Online (v9.0.2). I have installed Visual Studio 2017 Professional with SQL Server Express 2017 on system. While installing the CRM 2016 BIDS extension, I am getting an error "Some of the required components are missing. For more information, click Details. For a list of the required components, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 2016 Report Authoring Extension (with SQL Server Data Tools support) download page (go.microsoft.com/fwlink).". Due to this "Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fetch" option not appearing in DataSource drop-down list.

Any help would be much appreciated !!!

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Daivat Vartak

RE: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fetch not appearing in Drop down of DataSource

As per MS documentation, You must install the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Report Authoring Extension on a PC that has the following software. Microsoft Visual Studio 2015, Microsoft Visual Studio 2013, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, or Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. you may need anyone of the above SSDT/BIDS installed in your machine.

If you do not have any of these, Install SSDT 2015( go.microsoft.com/fwlink ) and then proceed with BIDS extenstion.

If the above didn't resolve the issue please provide a screenshot of missing components and provide more details.
