Hi,

i develop report and i do some grouping like this :

I added a grouping by depth and height. Then I added a grouping by "base 999" this grouping is applicable for all the height except height 5mm.

Can I add a condition for apply this grouping to height 5mm.

Thanks.

Do you really expect your data to be grouped just because "A  small Part of your string is matching with part of Group Text"

Groups don't work that way. SSRS groups data based on Full Text/String/Value.

That's what I am trying to explain you that your whole string does not match with group. You are trying to match part of string with group name. It does not works that way.

Assume I have data as shown following

    ID

    Name

    Details

    101

    Liam Lawson

    Any details1…

    102

    Alex Higney

    Any details2…

    103

    Liam William

    Any details3…

    104

    Jordan new lands

    Any details4…

If I try to group the data by Name (2nd field) it will result in 4 groups, I cannot expect record 101 and 103 to be under same group just because part of my string is matching. It should match whole string.

You can try to take part of string in your group expression by getting part of string using functions like MID(), LEFT(), RIGHT(), LEN(), INSTR()

If use of substring do not help you, only choice will be matching whole string

You can create display method based on business requirements and make group on this method

So try to retrieve this part of string as a display method
