If I merge two contacts will it also copy any child records from the other contact over to the master including custom entities that may have been created?

Thanks G

You can't un-merge until you write a custom code.

It depend on type of 1:N relationship.

Open relationship between contact and other child entity and make sure Merge option selected to Cascade all.

Yes, it should move all children s well unless otherwise specified in the relationship mapping.

    Hope this helps.

In most cases, that statement is correct unless there is some configured cascading rule (As Mike suggests) that specifies that for a particular child entity/relationship there will be no Cascading.

    Hope this helps.

Take a look at the 1 to N relationship section of the parent entity (contact).  There is a Merge option.  That should tell you which children will move to the 'new' parent contact entity.
