CRM Very high Ram usage

Hi,

i Have a VM server running Sharepoint 2010, Project 2010 and CRM 2010.

Since i installed CRM 2010 the ram demand in Hyper-V just keep on rising.

My problem is that the memory demand on Hyper-v just keep on climbing. Restarted it 8 Hours ago and it is now on 8650Mb. Before i restarted it it was on 20Gb.  Before i restarted yes

Can it be a memory leak in CRM?

What process is requesting all the RAM in task manager?

Looks like SRMHost.exe is using the most at this point..

It might also be the 2 w3wp.exe services that is kreeping up. Will have to give it some time to see which one get more.

Had a post on a Hyper-V forum as-well... here is my answer i think:

First of all, yes, you have found an application that does not properly return memory back tot he system when it is finished with it.  It isn't necessarily a memory leak, but it is not fully compatible with Dynamic Memory.

If Dynamic Memory is working at all, then you have the Integration Services installed within the VM - at least you are at the 2008 R2 SP1 level in the VM.

About the only thing that you can do is cap the maximum memory of the VM, or set the VM memory to static and decide how much to give it.

The system won't let this VM consume the entire server, but it will take all that the other VMs are not using (from your description) - at least it will take all that it can.

There are other applications that do not play well with Dynamic Memory as well.  So don't assume that all applications will work with it out of the box, even MSFT applications.  This is simply behavior that is generally not noticed when servers run on hardware or a VM with static RAM.
