Estimating Adjust Cost – Item Entries

Does anyone have any insights into estimating the adjustment duration by item in Adjust Cost – Item Entries (Report 795)?

Details:

We currently estimate the adjustment time for each item based on previous runtimes. This permits us to minimize the impact on our business by delaying the adjustment of our items with estimated longer adjustment times until after work hours.

The problem is that our item adjustment runtimes are not consistent. An item estimated to adjust in seconds based on previous adjustments may take minutes, or even an hour to adjust, depending on some data factors we have not yet quantified.

If we could quantify the transactions needed for the adjustments, we could better estimate the runtimes.

We’re using the Standard Cost method on Dynamics NAV 2017.

Hi, As far as I know, it depends on the number of Item Ledger Entries and Value Entries.

If you can't estimate the time, you can enable the following options in Inventory Setup and adjust it immediately when posting.

If you don't want to run it right away, you can use Job Queue to have it run daily or monthly during non-working hours.
