Inventory Concern issue.

Hello Dynamics Community.

I have a stock concern issue.

I checked the general balance of my shop stock at 30 June 2022, it was 2437236.68.

Now, during inventory valuation on 30 June 2022 itself, it is now 2435167.02.

That is, I'm getting a difference of 2069.66.

Will be grateful if someone can explain to me why such huge difference has occurred?

Thanks to let me know.

I have the same question (0)

The first thing i would check is your routine for cost adjustment.

Do you run automatic cost adjustment or do you run it manually?

And was the cost adjustment processed between your first report and your second report?

    Hello Mr Inge

Yes, the cost adjustment is automatic. It is setup as always.

    Why such difference has occurred?

Grateful to let me know your opinion.

Hi Beginner Dynamics 365 Business Central ,

There can be several reasons for that. So it is really hard to be certain about this without looking into your data.

But   Kim Dallefeld have published an excellent series of blog articles that you can use for reconciling your inventory against your General ledger. You will find that here: kimdandnavbc.com/.../ and you should go through that to see if that can help you identify the differences.

Hi, I don't know what your Costing Method is. For example, if your Costing Method is average cost, and the purchase amount is different, the cost amount will be changed. And I'm guessing that this may be caused by you posting into the June period after June 30th.

    Some details about Cost:

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

You could have invoiced a purchase(s) that was only received and not invoiced. You can keep from happening by managing your general ledger setup's allow posting from and to dates. I recommend changing your dates at the end of the last day of the month or very beginning of the first day of the month. With expected cost there is no reason to leave these dates open. For accounting users, yes they need a wider range of dates but adjust cost uses the general ledger posting date range.
