Project Item Journal manual entries for 100 items

Hi all, 
 
We are using the Project Item Journal to request stock from Internal warehouse, but this creates a tedious task if the no of items grows larger and on top of it for each item line, we need to capture the serial no as well. 
What is the best approach to achieve this?
  • We have already tried to do through Excel update and publish but unfortunately it doesn't update serial no. Is this a bug or we are doing incorrectly.
