Authentication issues with Basic Auth in D365 FO

I am trying to connect to D365 FO using Postman and basic authentication. I keep getting the 401 Unauthorized error. I am able to connect successfully using OAuth 2.0 so I'm pretty sure I have everything set up correctly. I've never used Basic Auth before and don't know if it's even supported. I haven't been able to find documentation one way or the other.

To sum up: Is Basic Auth supported by D365 FO? If so, is there a setup or steps I have to take above and beyond the ones I'd take for OAuth 2.0 and then just plugging in my user/pass? Thanks!

Hello Ryan,

Its not possible to use Basic Auth directly with D365FO , only OAuth 2.0 is supported
