If its not enabled in extension you can't change it.

If the property is not available to change in Visual Studio, then you can't change it. You can create an extensibility request in LCS and ask MS to make it extensible. Then you need to describe your business case / justification for them. MS might or might not make it extensible in future versions.

By the way, please remember to use your prefix when naming extensions, or you will have naming conflicts in the future.

    Hi Jenifer,

In AX 2012 decimal precision for RealBase was 16 by default.

In D365 they made it 6(!) by default and added new property Scale which is not possible to extend(!).

    Hi Jenifer,

In addition, you can recreate the new EDT Reals and set the values to what you need. Instead of expanding.

Make sure you understand what scale really means - it's not just about allowing more digits after the decimal, it has implications. You can go through some SQL DECIMAL type articles on that. The scale property is essentially a leaky abstraction showing some of the database internals.

It's not allowed to be change in extensions because it can cause serious problems with existing data when changed. I discourage doing anything with scale on EDTs, unless it's on your own tables or fields.
