Back in Feb. 2021, we had an issue where a random sales rep had the Security Role "Marketing Professional - Business" assigned to them before they processed a Quick Campaign. Our CRM is setup so certain reps can only see and email their own Contacts, however this Security Role gives almost complete access to the Contact database. This caused the email the rep was sending to go to our ENTIRE Contact database. I made a support ticket at the time and was told this seemed to be a one off glitch that may have been caused by a Marketing update. Why it singled out one specific rep was never explained, but with nothing else to work with, we closed the case.
Today, we had the SAME issue happen again with a different rep. The same role (Marketing Professional - Business) was assigned randomly to a rep, BUT we were able to confirm this time the role was assigned BEFORE the Campaign was sent. The rep thought it was weird they could see other reps Marketing Lists and Contacts, but didn't know enough to question it and stop sending the Quick Campaign. Has anyone experienced an issue with this specific Security Role being "randomly" assigned to Users? If not this specific role, has anyone encountered it with other roles? I was told that roles could NOT be assigned like this without someone assigning the role directly, does anyone know of other ways to assign roles to Users besides in Settings >> Security >> User? Could a Marketing Workflow somehow being doing this in the background? I have made another support ticket but wanted to see if anyone else is having the same or similar issues. Any info is appreciated, thank you!
